Grades K-8th
Here at MCPA we support families looking for a different learning environment for their child. We are here to teach your student new material, help you navigate subjects, offer a classroom space full of friends, or just to give support. Our teacher staff will spend the day doing project based learning and offering hands on activities that help promote learning in core subject areas (math, ELA, science, history, & writing) as well as facilitate fun engaging activities such as art, stem, science, music, and physical movement.

Curriculum
Each group works on project based learning activities as a group. Grades Pre K3-Pre K5 in one group, Kindergarten through 4th grade in one group, and coming fall 2024 5th-8th the other group. Each spending time doing stem, math, language, science etc in a project based setting. Project-based learning (PBL) or project-based instruction/thematic learning is an instructional approach designed to give students the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills through engaging projects/themes set around challenges and problems they may face in the real world.

PBL/THEMATIC LEARNING
What are the benefits of project based learning & enrichment?
Project based learning/Thematic learning blends content mastery, meaningful work, and personal connection to create powerful learning experiences, in terms of both academic achievement and students' personal growth. PBL can be transformative for students, especially those furthest from educational opportunity.
Enrichment activities help to get students interested in what they are learning which in turn creates engagement. Motivation is also crucial to student success. Most students are more likely to be motivated to participate in classroom lessons, activities, and discussions when they feel challenged.
Classrooms
Each classroom is set up in a Modern Montessori way that is a calm homelike & comfortable space. All MCPA Classrooms follow an open floor plan to create a learning environment that encourages discovery and aids in developing the faculty of choice. There are areas for group activity and areas for independent learning—no stifling rows of school desks.
